A successful first month does not guarantee the next one is available. A furnished home may already have a later booking, or the provider may need a different agreement for an extension. Ask about the process while there is still time to make another plan.
Put the notice date on the calendar
Read the current agreement and ask when an extension request should be made. Record the required channel and who can approve it. If a company pays for the stay, identify who in the company authorizes extra spending.
State whether you need the same home or can consider another option. A provider may be able to offer a move without extending the exact unit. These are different proposals and should have separate costs and arrangements.
Confirm the revised terms
Ask for the extension dates, price, included services and any new conditions in writing. Check whether utilities, parking, cleaning and furniture stay under the same arrangement. Do not assume that the original package or concession automatically carries forward.
If approval is pending, keep that status visible. “Requested,” “quoted” and “confirmed” should not be interchangeable labels in a team calendar. A conversation about availability is not yet a completed extension.
Prepare a workable alternative
Maintain a small shortlist of other homes that could meet your dates and requirements. Confirm their current terms rather than relying on an earlier advertisement. Allow time for a possible move, inventory handoff and key return at the current apartment.
For a separate furniture rental, coordinate any extension or collection under that agreement too. A housing extension does not automatically update an independent supplier contract.
When the extension is confirmed, update the calendar, billing contact and departure instructions. If it cannot be confirmed, decide on the alternative before the original end date becomes urgent. This is a simple administrative habit that helps keep uncertain work or travel schedules from turning into a last-day housing problem.
